I have no idea what I’ll be able to do while I take my baby pseudo-hiatus. Probably nothing, but clearly there are people out there doing some pretty amazing things. Carry on… I’ll try to catch up someday.

register.com’s unadvertised prices
I sure would like to thank the representative from Register.com I eventually talked to after being on-hold with an infinite-length version of the smooth-jazz interpretation of “That’s the way love goes”. He offered to give me $9 a year pricing on retaining my domain names with register.com, versus their normal rate of $35 a year.
So, all you have to do is decide that their price is too high, tell them you want auth-codes for domain transfer to another registrar, and presto-change-o, they suddenly become competitive.
Still paying $35 a year for your domain? Maybe you can try this.
