<description>Syria is the next objective on the US hit-list for the following reason(s): the oil pipeline, from Kirkluk which has been in disrepair from I think about 1948,runs through Syrian terrritory and ends in Haifa Isreal.Should Iraq and Syria be brought under social and economic control, the pipeline could be repaired, making it possible for Iraq's oil to be piped through to Isreal;thus saving the State of Isreal 10s of millions per year in Russian oil imports. Moreover, oil from the Iraqie oil fields could be cheaply and efficiently pumped directly to the ports for export. The bottom line being,if the region cannot be controlled politically, military action against Syria is highly likely once a pretext for invasion is swallowed by the American public.
