state of the “union” 2005

I use that term loosely… when the “president” talked about things off the known agenda, the radio commentator said “This is one of the surprise initiatives”… and i dawned on me. “Surprise Initiative” is another way to say “I have no real intention of seeing this through, but me talking about it will make it harder for you to say bad things about me, even though Congress probably won’t do what I’m talking about. Whatever.” And I also love how basically all the surprise initiatives are going to cost billions of dollars, too. Where is that money going to come from? Oh, the permanent tax cuts, right! It also cracks me up when in the same sentence I hear “we have no right to force a method of government on another country” and “so that’s why democracy is right for the middle east”. Same sentence!

“hey, don’t let me tell you what to do, but you have to do it this way”?

Am I the only one who sees the hypocrisy here?? If this is the “new american century”, why is there so much emphasis being placed on the middle east? Oh, I get it, because that’s where our interest are. I better go read up on the statement of principles.

PS… syria, iran, sounds like you’re next. Sorry.

PPS. I didn’t mention this earlier when the figure came out, but I laughed loudly when the survey numbers came out 50-50 on whether Bush is a uniter or divider. It sort of answers itself: divider. Duh.

Syria is the next objective on the US hit-list for the following reason(s): the oil pipeline, from Kirkluk which has been in disrepair from I think about 1948,runs through Syrian terrritory and ends in Haifa Isreal.Should Iraq and Syria be brought under social and economic control, the pipeline could be repaired, making it possible for Iraq’s oil to be piped through to Isreal;thus saving the State of Isreal 10s of millions per year in Russian oil imports. Moreover, oil from the Iraqie oil fields could be cheaply and efficiently pumped directly to the ports for export. The bottom line being,if the region cannot be controlled politically, military action against Syria is highly likely once a pretext for invasion is swallowed by the American public.
