what you are building isn’t a hammer, it’s a stick of dynamite. At some point, you have to stop looking at a mountain as a thing to blow up and just accept it as a part of our landscape.
Go make a painting. Or write a song. Lead the creative world by example of construction, not deconstruction. If you think we’re going in the wrong direction, make your own way instead of trying to destroy apple’s way.
You obviously like apple somewhat, so leave them alone. Actively providing the tools to circumvent their music system’s rules is like saying “fuck apple, they should not exist” … I guarantee you the world where apple no longer contributes to the universe of innovation is a world you don’t want to live in.
Think about it. Put your skills to positive use. This isn’t about proving you can undo something that apple is doing wrong. It isn’t about showing off your skills to your friends by how you can crack this code. This is about your place in the grand scheme of things. You’re obviously intelligent, so why not start being smart about how you apply yourself? MP3.com is about to vanish forever. Build a system to replace it. You obviously think all music should be free, so why not use your energy and skills towards replacing what we’re all about to lose?
