so new years eve’s coming.. we’re _so_ ready for tabula raza… just about the only good thing coming out of this rotten year was D&P’s pregnancy, and what a cool thing that is, too! Uncle Steve… that’s pretty cool.

Speaking of k-pax

Is Kevin Spacey an alien from k-pax, or is he just in need of some k-paxil? Is he able to possess human bodies, or has he just acheived some kind of higher ability to cope with life changing trauma? If he’s an alien, why does his home planet sound so damn boring? And if it’s so good, why does he keep coming back? If they don’t miss each other back home, why does he feel compassionate about this human in the first place? If sex is so bad, why do they bother?

as you can see, only more questions come up as a result of seeing this film.

Ice Cube – of hip hop fame…

So there I was, Ice Cube, in a really big dark ikea-lookin’ store full of electronic parts and furniture and junk, only I was dreaming… or the various rooms were like deeper and deeper levels of the dream. Kind of half-waking life, and half-hypnosis… Only, wait, I had this dream two nights ago, and we only just saw k-pax yesterday.. Interesting..

anyway, it was like me-as-Ice Cube had to wake up, and so I had to turn around and get out of the store as fast as I could, but naturally, in a dream when you run, it’s all in slo-mo, so I was watching myself just barely make it through each door one at a time in slo-mo before the doors would slam shut and lock… and then I woke up…

why Ice Cube?

Digital Fine Art?

I have questions for you.

can digital art be fine art? How can you assure your buyer that it’s really fine art and there’s only a certain number of prints available in the edition? What would be an acceptable way to make assurances of the authenticity of the edition of the print?

After studying many years of applying various fine art mediums, I found the most rewarding was printmaking, specifically in linoleum cut prints, because of the fast reproduceable nature of the piece. Linocuts are very fast to produce the edition for. What I want to know of you is your opinion on what an acceptable authenticating device would be for digital art.

please take a second to vote on the poll on the left side regarding this topic! thanks!

PHP projects…

Hi, I’ve been wrassling with two PHP/MySQL projects to further learn about how PHP works and how it works with MySQL. One of the projects is a vinyl record tracking database. The other is a car maintenance tracking database.

what I hope to achieve with these is a better understanding of how to set up these kinds of systems faster, and to do really interesting things like reference rows and columns from one tablee to the next.

exciting, huh…

If you’re interested in seeing what I’ve been doing, let me know and I’ll let you in the back door to take a look.

The reason for sitcoms

I had this dream last night…

we were living in this evil government state where the government really tried to beat everyone down. I had this thought that sitcoms are a funny way to explain anything suspicious. The entertainment industry was on the revolution side of the equation versus the government. I remember watching a live taping of a show, where someone accidentally set off a rock slide, and turned around afterward and had that sheepish look on their face… “whooooops!” and the laugh track ensued… right afterward, I remember seeing a cutaway view of the stage, and what the cameras didn’t show the audience was that the rock slide was actually part of a plan to destroy a supply tunnel for the government…

weird…

New Topic created…

In honor of my new job at cgrafx I’ve created a new topic relating to work. Today was my second day there, and I really like it. I think there’s a lot of potential to grow in many different ways, and that’s very exciting.

So, hey, here’s to a short work week! 😉 Woo hoo! fire up the eggnog!
